Easter weekend, 15-18 April 2022
Anybody who needs medical advice or to visit a pharmacy over the Easter Bank Holiday should plan ahead to allow for reduced GP and pharmacy provision over this period. Our Practice will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday, so will not be making appointments for in-person or telephone consultations on those days. Anyone who needs non-urgent advice should call 111. Many pharmacies will also be closed, but some will operate on a rota system to provide cover during the Easter break. A full list for Derbyshire can be found here: https://tinyurl.com/msydpmau If you use the Medicines Order Line to order repeat prescriptions, please check you have sufficient to allow for any delays in ordering over the Easter weekend.
Non-attendance of patient appointments
During the period January to March 2022 the Practice had 339 scheduled appointments where the patient did not attend. So far in April, this number is 48. If you are unable to attend your appointment can you please telephone the Practice as soon as you know you are not able to attend your appointment so we can reschedule it for you. This also means your appointment time can be made available to another patient who needs to be seen by a member of our Clinical team quickly. Thank you, in advance, for your help and co-operation regarding this.
Access to NHS Dentistry
Please read this helpful information for further details: Access to NHS Dentistry is currently limited during the pandemic as all dentists have been asked to stop all routine “face-to-face” dental care.
Asthma / COPD Management during COVID-19
We have been made aware of some inaccurate information circulating regarding special 'rescue packs' for patients with pre-existing respiratory conditions such as asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Please do not contact your GP practice for a rescue pack. You should continue to manage your condition in the usual way and if you feel you have symptoms of COVID-19, go to https://111.nhs.uk/covid-19/ before doing anything else.
Please read this helpful informa...tion from the British Lung Foundation & Asthma UK.
You will note that there is no recommendation to have a rescue pack as there is no evidence for their use and indeed their are concerns steroids will reduce you immunity to fight off the virus.
